All Steel Match at Desoto Gun Club
Scott invited Craig and I out to Arcadia to the Desoto Gun Club for another Practical style event. This time it was outdoors and all steel targets to engage. Very fun, not nearly as bad as my first experience with "Screw the shooter" night.
The course was laid out in 3 main stages with 32 targets. First, open the door and engage two static targets, move to the first cover and shoot four move static targets and a popper. Move to a table in the middle of the range and engage two more pop ups, a texas star and 6 bowling pins in any order. Run to the third stage and hit 6 popups on a rack, two more popups on the ground and another weighted Texas Star.
My best time was a 87 second with all 32 hits scoring a respectable (for me) 2.034... The best guys there were doing the entire course in around 30 seconds for a score of 4 something..
I used the HK USP this time out and it performed very well, I stole the hogue grip from the Glock and it worked out very well. The HK is High capacity with 15rds so I only had two magazine changes at the stage.
Can't wait to do it again!
